Any additional information:

6 months, March 1st build. Used less than 4 months. Been sitting around in the box since July.

It was to be my ongoing project but unfortunately I'm selling as I've had to buy a laptop to work in the city half the week and really don't need two high spec machines in the house (some photos in the gallery at the end).

Clean install Win10 currently loaded, if you're looking for a high spec machine or want to get into gaming/VR just drop a video card in and you're off to the races (which is what I was going to do). Otherwise the machine works amazing as is.

Google the case NZXT Manta some really cool stuff you can do with this mini tower. I had it on my desk as it's a real beauty.

Drop me any questions or photo requests.

I just built this:

Parts:

The fans should fit perfectly as the case supports for up to 5 fans (including one front fan it provides) and you should not have heat problems if you put the 3 fans for exhaust.

For warranty, you might have to send the items back to the original country which can be expensive and not worth it so you have to depend on your luck. Better buy from your local store if they are available.

Also I have a couple of comments. If you can get this (https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Motherboard-Z170I-PRO-GAMING/dp/B015FY4HLS) at the same price or cheaper, get this instead as some review says it overclocks better. My other comment is that since 1070 runs most games at 90fps 1080p ultra detail and you are developing games, you could buy 2 or 3 1080 monitors for your work or even game on them on a lower setting (high or medium).

EDIT: You should buy more RAM 8 GB is not enough nowadays esp. if you want smooth fps or multitask a lot.

Aha, I wanted to make the joke, but you can never tell how it's going to go down.

Problem with PC's is I just end up dreaming about building my dream machine.

  • Dan Case A4 / N Case M1 - £200
  • GTX 1080 - £620 approx
  • i5 6600K - £235
  • ASUS Z170 Pro - £150 (not at all sure about buying an ASUS motherboard)
  • Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD 512GB - £285
  • Some Ram - £150
  • Another SSD - £150

Then maybe I want to custom watercool the whole thing for another £500

And suddenly I can't afford to eat for the next few years.

any commands I type in the terminal to show it? I'm just running the latest kubuntu release (Yakkity yack?) on this motherboard

Thanks for your comment. I've actually made a small error, and the motherboard I selected isn't appropriate for my case. Please see the edit to my post.

I also worry about the volume of the stock cooler. I know it won't be loud, but if it's any louder than the fan on my GPU then I'd rather have something else. However, I imagine it's hard to determine the respective volumes of the fans...

Edit: this seems good

ASUS Z170i here, and now that I've checked.. it's plugged into the ASMedia USB host. No issues for me.
