I believe this is the laptop? Where are you seeing it's $350? Might be stolen if you're buying it used.

u/mosuckra · 3 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Hell no! Wait for black friday/cyber monday and buy a new laptop with new hardware (improved a LOT since 2014) and a warranty. You can get a better performing new laptop for around that price.

Proof: I got this laptop last black friday.

u/13798246 · 3 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

I just purchased this for $1249. It is $449 off currently so 26% off. I'm not sure if it is a Black Friday deal or not.

ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS

17.3" Full HD Ultra Thin and Light Gaming Laptop

120HZ G-SYNC Display (on Amazon it is listed as 75hz but it is actually 120hz)

GeForce GTX 1070 8GB

Intel i7-7700HQ 2.8 GHz

12GB DDR4 RAM

128GB SSD M.2 + 1TB 7200 rpm HDD

So for the same price you have to trade 128GB from the SSD for 1TB of extra 7200rpm storage.

You lose 4GB of ram, but you also get a IPS G-Sync display that is 120hz and 17.3" instead of 15.6".

Which is a 1070 with a 7700 at 1,250. Seems to be pretty good with 75hz

Asus GL702

75hz GSync panel, and a GTX 1070. With SSD and a 1TB HD.

It’s actually a rare deal from Asus.

Have you seen the ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS on Amazon right now? It's $1250.

u/MeowerPowerTower · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

How about this Asus ROG Strix?

It’s not exactly featherweight at 6lbs, but it is a solid laptop.

If you are ok with a 17 inch rig, this ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS is still a good deal thats going on now. or you could get the Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop while stocks last. it is still going for $999

maybeeee this?
ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS 17.3

right under your price range. 17.3 inch laptop and weighs 6.4 lbs, not sure if thats too heavy for you. since youre outta the country, make sure to have your relatives check the laptop to see if its working fine before shipping it to you to avoid a lot of hassle

u/LapNerd · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

I would recommend [ASUS ROG Strix GL702VS) as it comes with: -

CPU: i7-7700HQ
GPU: GeForce GTX 1070

RAM: 12 GB
Display: FHD - G-sync 17.3 IPS screen

Storage: 128 SSD,1 TB HDD
Poor battery life

It is a great choice because of its great heat management system and high build quality, along with its specifications makes it the best option for your usage and it is within your budget.

Your best option would probably be the 17" ASUS ROG GL702 for just under $1500. It may be a bit more powerful than you really need, but at the very least it'd be future-proof for many years. It comes with a quad core i7, 12gb ram, 128gb SSD + 1TB HDD, and a GTX 1070. In addition it has a 75Hz G-Sync display, and a pretty decent build quality.

A cheaper option is the Eluktronics N800 Pro for $1150. It'll have a pretty similar build to the ASUS ROG, but without as much value. The GPU is weaker (GTX 1060), it has less RAM, only a 60Hz display, and doesn't have the additional 1TB HDD. Still a great laptop that would work well for you though. You can also upgrade the RAM or storage in the future if you'd like.

I first ended up readjusting my budget to 1700-2300 USD, because that was a new tier of computers.
I then ended breaking that anyway, because I fell in love with a

Lenovo ThinkPad P71

Price: ~2670USD before TAX (which was 42% off the ~4600 USD full price), this puts it in the same price range as Acer Predator 17 x GX-792, but the ThinkPad P71 is a better machine!

Msi makes good products. They're one of the top brands up there with asus. Don't know about Lenovo. I still prefer asus over msi though. If you can come up with the cash, this one would be awesome. If you need to stick to the $1500 range, this one would be excellent. Only downside I see on that one is the 75hz refresh rate. Go browse through the asus rog lineup and find something you like that you can afford.
