So this is 27" but I just bought one and am extremely happy with it.

I really like my BenQ xl2730z, I believe this is the current incarnation:

Of course, if you want something new or different, sounds like folks have given plenty of options in the other comments!

>[EDIT-2] Oops... apparently there aren't any 120Hz monitors on Amazon with at least 2560x1440 resolution, they're all 1080... That explains why I've never seen/tried one.

Meanwhile, BenQ.

I just upgraded as well. Went with the BenQ though because I think it was a cheaper buy. I'm in love with it.

I have the BenQ Zowie XL2730 and it is incredible. It is $499 now

> 144hz 1ms 1440p monitor

This is arguably the best monitor in your category.

Cheaper selections: this and this

Hey, I have $500 to blow on getting a monitor that will allow for netplay to run s m o o t h a s f u c k. I already have a computer that will allow for quite literally anything, but I'm stuck between these two monitors. One is 240hz and 1080p, the other is 144hz 1440p. Here they are if you want to see them. https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Response-eQualizer-Adjustable-XL2540/dp/B01MCYUV19 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H5KKVME?ref=emc_b_5_i so, which one should I get? (btw I'm a sheik main and anything which could help my reaction tech chasing is GREATLY appreciated)

Im on mobile, so sorry for the formatting.

I've got a smaller 1080p version of this Acer and it works like a charm.

If you dont like the red aesthetic, BenQ is a super reputable company that makes great monitors

For $550 I'd absolutely reach for the BenQ ZOWIE 27". BenQ monitors have always been my favorite ever since they were the official monitor of MLG for Halo tournaments. They look amazing and always just felt smoother in FPS games.

I'm getting this one tomorrow. Build quality is great and the colors are above average for a TN panel. The Dell one the other guy mentioned was what I was originally going to get, but it went off sale. It also doesn't have g synch but I don't think i mind since I play CSgo and some mobas occasionally.

u/jkotchy · 1 pointr/buildapc

Oh nice, I was using it as my second too, but the difference in res and size made me just get rid of it.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H5KKVME/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is the monitor I bought, highly recommend. I play PUBG, LoL and CS:GO primarily.

u/hctheman · 1 pointr/buildapc

Alright, I see that the GPU handles 1440p @ close to 60 FPS in most newer tripple A titles & handles games on ultra setting ^1. It also handles tripple A games at a much higher FPS(75-100~) with 1080p, and by extension, esport games (dota 2, cs:go, overwatch etc) at more than 144fps. So the way I see it is that you have two choises:

  • Option one: If you care about High details & high resolution in single player games, I'd most def go for a 1440p ISP monitor. This is gonna give you a very gorgeous & detailed look in-games. It's also gonna be very great watching movies on. Something like this monitor, it's around 200 euro on Amazon, but I would try to find it locally to save on the shipping cost.

  • Option two: If your only experience gaming has been on a lapop the first option might sound tempting, but if you wanna play some competative games such as Fortnight, Cs:go, Pubg or Mobas a 144hz, 24 inch monitor with low responds time (1MS) is the way to go. It's kind of hard to explain just how significant the change from 60 to 120&144hz can be, but everything will look way smoother & the gameplay will seem more immersive. In general you're just gonna have a better experience. The details arent gonna be as clear as with a 1440p ISP panel, but it makes up for that with the fluidity of the gameplay itself. For a more thorough explanation, check out this video. This is a really good 144hz, 24 inch, 1MS, 1080p monitor

  • Option three : If you wanna have the best of both worlds, save up more money & buy a 1440p, 144hz monitor. This will give you the benifits of both, but this comes at more than double the cost of what you had in mind for the budget. Something like this should give you the best gaming experience.

Hope that gave you some insight into getting a monitor.

u/smashnmashbruh · 1 pointr/Monitors

Save money, don't get gsync, its not as important as 144hz or 250hz. 1080p allows for high frames as well, if you are stuck on 1440p that is fine, its just less frames.

FYI for monitors its all about making sure you get the panel you want, then finding the actual monitor manufacture that has bezel and features you like.

How big of a risk do you think overclocking is for a monitor like BenQ Zowie XL2730 1440p 144hz?

Probably not the simplest question, but asking just in case you knew :/

u/Exphio · 1 pointr/Amd

what about a qhd monitor? I just found this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H5KKVME?ref=emc_b_5_t&th=1) while browsing amazon. With a qhd panel, could I turn my resolution down to 1080p for games where I need the framerate to be higher or would that cause black bars or stretching on the monitor? :o

You can take the stupid things off on the side of the monitor, is that the sort of thing you're looking for?

Mainly centred towards esports stuff (So would be a good option for League)

u/WhatAGoalll · 1 pointr/buildapc

Anyone here own this? I'm looking to pick up a 1440p, 144hz monitor and after several days of browsing I'm zeroing in on this one:

BenQ ZOWIE [New] 27-Inch QHD 2560x1440 LED 144Hz Quad HD Gaming Monitor with S-Switch, XL-Series for eSports Tournaments and Professional Players (XL2730) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H5KKVME/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nZ8yyb7Z7KMKV

I'm thinking of picking it up but I have never owned or used anything from BenQ before. So if anyone has some insight that would be great. Also I'd prefer a 24" but it seems that 27" is the standard for 1440p.

u/Kronos_Selai · 1 pointr/buildapc

The exact model I have has been replaced by the almost identical Zowie (BenQ) model shown here -> https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-2560x1440-Tournaments-Professional-XL2730/dp/B01H5KKVME

Would I recommend it? Oh my fucking GOD yes! It's so goddamned good. It's a TN panel that has more accurate color than my 1440p BenQ IPS sitting right next to it. It's super sharp, the Freesync has a very broad range, and I seriously cannot rant enough about how much I love this thing. The stand and OSD control (the puck) is what REALLY sets this thing apart though. The stand has a massive amount of range to it in terms of height, swivel, turning it 180, whatever the hell you want. It's solid, and the total build quality is flawless. It has a ton of input options, USB ports, the full fucking works.

u/ICantDoNames · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

If I were to get a 1440p monitor I would get a 1440p 144hz one. I have links for both types below:

Benq 1440p, 144hz

Benq 1440p

The 144hz 1440p one is on sale right now for a pretty good price.

u/RaginBuu · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I should also add I applied for an Amazon credit card to finance it and I need something quick and didn't want to wait long. Upon approval I got $110 in gift cards so that helped the price too. What a your thoughts of pairing it with this monitor

u/MaiKaech · 1 pointr/Amd

I currently have an Asus MG279Q, which meets the requirements you are looking for. 2K/5ms/144hz/free-sync. I enjoy it and have had no issues. It seems to cap out 90Hz free-sync enabled though.

Also, BenQ ZOWIE XL2730 or XL2735 might be a good choice. The latter, according to their website has some sort of blur reducing tech called Dynamic Accuracy. Quite the jump in $$ though..

First of all congratulations and you have a new friend. Your Gpu might have trouble running 1440p 144hz but I'm not 100% sure. Gpu wise Nvidia seem to have the dominate position in the market in terms of current performance.

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Response-eQualizer-Adjustable-XL2730/dp/B01H5KKVME

This is a well good 1440p 144hz monitor , it is 100$ more expensive though.

u/NessInOnett · 1 pointr/computers

That monitor comes in 1080p and 1440p variants.. I would go for the 1440p version if it's in your budget. At 27", 1440p resolution is ideal. 1080 starts looking a little pixelated.

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Response-eQualizer-Adjustable-XL2730/dp/B01H5KKVME

And yes it will be good for gaming. Although personally I would prefer an IPS with a slower response time over a TN panel with a fast response time. This BenQ is a TN. Colors are a lot better on IPS

Options are limited for 27"+1440p+IPS, and they're pricey.. but it's worth it.

u/Alltimegamers · 1 pointr/Monitors

I have the same gpu and recently got this and really love it.

The 1440p is a lot more expensive at $499

and the cheaper options at 1080p are this BenQ monitor and this Asus monitor
