This newsletter has a story about me and some friends from my Uni, building a school in Uganda. Well two schools actually! It's still one of the best things I've ever done. We raised a lot of money (I think around 17k) and literally built the school with our bare hands :D We made the bricks, mixed the mortar, then built it between us. Another group later came and plastered and painted it, ready for people to use. Before Soft Power Education helped, the kids were being taught in one large room with virtually no supplies at all, and now in each village they have a 3 classroom block, with better sanitation and school supplies.
It would really make my day to receive this water purifying bottle - which I know is kinda boring, but at the moment my desk is littered with battered old recycled water bottles. I'd love to have a nice bottle to encourage me to drink more water which is part of my get-healthy plan. Sorry it's not a very exciting product! Hopefully it's eligible :)
