To answer a few questions

• The two drivers at the time were ok. Shake. And bruised, but no major injuries.
  
• My wife did stop and render aid, but didn’t just jump out of the car without looking at the risks. Traffic was stopped, and there was no way for the cars behind her to get through. Traffic was diverted through the gas station until they could clear the debris.
  
• She tried to get the driver in the blue Impala to stay in his car, but his adrenaline and fear (smoke/dust from the airbag) made him crawl through the back door.
  
• She have her statement and video to the officer before she left.
  -The driver in the white car obviously ran the red light. Timing on that intersection has the feeder roads green, then the cross traffic. The white car was coming off the feeder and turned under the overpass where he had the red light.

Z-Edge 3" for the front and a Bluesky G1w-cb for the back. The Z-Edge comes with a long USB to micro USB cord, the Bluesky with a cigarette lighter to a micro USB cord.

They are alright so far. The Z-Edge needs fast cards so get something with over 40mb/s write speeds- but otherwise performs very well in a range of conditions.

I wish the mounts were more discrete, I'm considering fashioning low profile ones.

Sorry to hear about the trouble your mum is having. You can use a car dashcam or place a battery powered CCTV camera hidden somewhere.

If you want to go down the dashcam method, I use the popular G1W dashcam in my car.

Here's an example of this camera.

It starts recording when the power is turned on. I have plugged it into my car's USB port, so it turns on when I start the car. But you could connect it to the car's battery via a switch so that you could turn on the recording whenever you want.

With a 32GB card in it, it can record crisp FullHD video easily for 10 hours straight. When the card is full, it will overwrite the oldest clips.

thats very similiar to what I have just an evolution or two newer ive got the plain g1w

My $50 dashcam has an IR light and works quite good at night, even on roads with no lighting. It would for sure pick up a body laying in the road directly in front of the headlights.

It is safe to assume that the multi-$1000 cams the police use would be just as good as mine. Peruse /r/dashcam for many videos taken at night.
