You talking about that pink one with the 3 cylinders? The pump is flimsy, but it works if you don't throw it against the wall or anything like that. The handle sticks when you haven't used it in a while, but if you pull back on it and then squeeze it hard it will unstick. I've had one for the past couple of years and it's still going strong. No complaints there. If you want super cheap, you can get something like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JINUOY. You won't get the same amount of suction as you would with a pump, but it will pump it up a bit, especially if you're fairly small still. And it's more comfortable so you can leave it on for longer.
We have tried a few types and think the one piece rubber? ones work the best.

They are very affordable and it's natural tenancy to keep sucking means you won't need to keep turning the knob on the other style. Plus it's lightweight.
The knob type that you twist to pull suction work too but require more messing with but can deliver a lil more pull.
