A couple more Casios that might be worth a look... A nice ani-digi and a sporty dive-ish watch.

Casio has a mind boggling array of cheap but nice watches.

My father gave me this Casio watch about five years ago, and he's been wearing it fifteen years before that. The watch has gone through hell, given that my father is a mechanic. Mine has a metal band, tho. It really is quite nice & heavy, gets the job done, and the battery even lasts about 10 years.

It also stores 30 telephone numbers, which might seem silly at first, but can save your life if you're stuck without your phone and don't know anyone's number by memory.

I'd recommend this watch any day, especially for the fantastic price.

Makes sense -- that Victorinox is a great looking watch. When I was in the same position, I also looked into really inexpensive analog/digital watches, but I suspect they're too casual for what you're looking for. Good luck!
