Looking at the updated photos of Lucy, I suspect that (for various possible reasons) the wire is slightly distorted, forcing the tips of the wires slightly wider apart than originally planned. As a result the rim of the cup gets pulled flat, resulting in mild quadboob.

You could try the Lucy again in 32GG, but that would be mainly to eliminate a possible orange-in-a-glass-effect caused by too narrow wires. After seeing the photos I think that a 32GG Lucy will be slightly too large in the cup - but the cutting in is not acceptable either.

Two strategies:

  1. Try to make this bra fit better. You could insert a non-stretchy extender. Black bras often fit slightly tighter than brighter colours, the dye makes the fabric shrink somehow. Another reason why the wires might be distorted is a V-shaped ribcage. If your ribs are larger under your arms than at your underbust, the band has to stretch more at the upper elastic. As a result the rim of the cup might get pulled flat, but not the rest of the cup. Here it helps to hook the bra uneven, often with the help of a non-stretchy extender. Finally you could try to stretch the lace directly at the rim. Only do this if you are determined to keep the bra. You need to wet the lace (best wash the bra at least twice to get rid of all the starch first) and then gently try to stretch the fabric there.

  2. The Lucy seems to be really close. I would play with different colourways of Lucy. As mentioned above, black bras tend to run small. As a result a white Lucy in the same size might fit slightly different - and it could make enough of a difference so that the rim no longer cuts in. Ditto for the old fashion colourways of Lucy. See bratabase: http://www.bratabase.com/browse/cleo/lucy-balconnet-bra-5851/details/

You could also look into cut-siblings of Lucy. Cleo Kali for example is known for being based upon Lucy, but the lace of Kali is supposedly less likely to cut in as the Lucy does on you here.

Kali is currenly available in pink for a low price.
