Gonna give that a shot as it holds quite a bit in the central sleeve. You guys are the best. I’ll let y’all know how but turns out in a week or two.

We want to make coconut oil.

So I take a portion of this avb and put it in cheese cloth and submerge in distilled water for a day and change the water. Keep doing this until the water is clear and no color soaks in?

Do I HAVE dry it? If i do. Will the smell at least be reduced. Ow because of the water cure?

Next step, put in cheesecloth and drop in to mason jar filled with coconut oil. Place that mason jar in a pan of water and boil (lid on or off?) for 2 hrs.

Let cool and eat?

My other question is what ratio of avb to oil should I use. I’d like a table spoon to be fairly potent.

Thanks for any pointers and advice. This is a shit ton of avb and I have got to do something with it.

I went with this setup from County Line Kitchen. They make the filter and lid and I'm assuming they work with most wide mouth mason jars. They sell a Ball 64oz with the kit so I bought an extra lid separately and picked up another jar at Target.

Yes actually! this mason jar is what I like to use to steep. After you’ve done your steep for 20-24 hours you’re going to want this nitrogenated dispenser to actually aid in the “nitro” part. Both of which are relatively affordable considering you’re getting home made nitro cold brew.

I use this, and it works well. My concern was a clumsy wife, so I didn't want to invest in something I couldn't replace if she broke it while washing it or other dishes around it.

I even bought a bunch of spare jars (because she wanted some for food storage as well) so I can brew more while its running low, since I steep for 24 hours. I just throw on the regular lid while brewing and use the the one included for coffee that's ready to drink.

If you like coffee you owe it to yourself to make cold brew. Plus you now have your water curer

Cold brew...it changed my life haha. I was in the same boat as you. When you grind coffee or brew it, that heats it up which causes the bitterness to show a bit more. Using coarse ground beans minimizes the heat from grinding and then cold brewing allows you to get coffee without heating the grounds. You cold brew you essentially create a concentrate that you can dilute with as much water as you want.

Sorry for the long links. This is the grinder that I got - definitely only able to grind a small bit of beans at a time, but i didn’t wanna go whole hog before I was able to decide if I wanted to continue. Only grind for 10 seconds to keep them coarse. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B076FJ92M4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

After that, I put the grinds in a plastic pitcher at 1 oz to 1 cup of water. Let that seep for 24 hours. Then pour it through this - filters out all of the grind: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07772LL6V?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

This makes a concentrate, which I mix about 1:1 with water.

For beans, I’m kind of indifferent. My coffee situation is moreso using it for the caffeine, but I’m sure better beans will give you a better concentrate.
