I just got a Boss RC-30 looper pedal and while I've been having a ton of fun with it and starting to really like looping. Right now, I typically record a rhythm guitar to a click track on left channel (playing through a guitar amp), record drums from an electronic drumset over that (to the right channel, playing through a separate speaker). Then have some fun layering a lead on top of that.

I have two questions about things I like to do with the looper but don't think I can with my current gear (but don't mind upgrading).

First, I don't see an easy way to seemlessly switch from say verse / chorus / bridge on a RC-30 looper if I have say a rhythm part recorded as phrases in memory banks 1/2/3, and want to do something like verse loop repeats a couple times and then switch into a chorus loop that repeats a couple times and then maybe switches into a bridge loop next or whatever. I think the boomerang can do this in it's serial mode. I also think it's possible with the RC-300.

Second, I'd like to add some bass lines and/or vocals on top of this (without losing guitar or drums). However, I only have left/right input/output channels (there's also a aux-input and microphone input), but I don't think I want say bass guitar or vocals coming out of a guitar amp (as opposed to bass amp/speaker).

The RC-30 looper don't have another dedicated input for a bass guitar with a dedicated output for a bass amp. Just switching the bass guitar into the guitar input (going through guitar amp still playing the guitar loop) made the bass sound weak and lacked oomph. I think I could possibly get away with this by chaining together two JamMan Solo XTs. But that doesn't seem to do seemlessly switching between verse / chorus / bridge sections.

Would a good solution be a mixer + PA + better looper (e.g., RC-300 or boomerang III)? Or do people generally just record parts into a multi-track DAW and build up songs while recording it, and I'm kind of overdoing it on my requirements for wanting a looper to let me switch between song parts seemlessly (without recording the entire song from start to finish on each part)?
