As configured by you (i7, 3TB HD, 4GB video card), the cost comes to $3099.00. I added in 16GB of memory over the stock 8 since that's pretty much standard for most builds, anymore.

5k Dell Monitor: $1,439.99

Retail i7-4790: $307.00

Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 Motherboard: $102.95

Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit: $66.99

Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 Mid Tower Case: $48.99

Silverstone Tek 500W 80+ Gold PSU: $79.99

EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card: $229.99

CM Storm Devastator KB/Mouse Combo: $29.99

Total Cost: $2305.89

Video card was a bit of a toughie since the iMac uses a notebook GPU, so I went with something a bit faster, but comparable. This is a complete system with comparable to better specs.

Given the price difference, may as well go with a 980Ti for that extra graphics oomph or tack on some water cooling.

Edit: Woops! Forgot storage and OS!

WD Blue 3TB HD: $98.70

Samsung 850 EVO 120GB (configured as cache drive): $66.99

Windows 10 Home: $119.00

Revised Total: $2590.58. Still cheaper and could still sub out the 960 for a 980Ti and be under cost.

A GTX 750 Ti will put you (slightly) above the minimum requirement, and those tend to be pretty affordable. I recently did a build with this GTX 750 Ti for a friend, and to my knowledge, it runs FO4 fairly decently.

Amazon currently has a GTX 960 for $210, so if you're willing to poke a little higher, that's a nice option as well.

EDIT: For clarity, the build was for a friend, hence why I have no first-hand knowledge as to how hard you can push it for FO4.

Please Help

I've had this PC for coming up on 3 years now i believe it is. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 for a motherboard and a Phantom 410(i think, it's been a while it looks exactly like it) case. I currently have an AMD 7800 series graphics card and it just crashes like hell all the time, i go to update my drivers and shit and it install all the way and then says "could not install". I think the fucker is terminal. Either way im trying to upgrade i guess since it's a piece of shit and i need something better. But i have no idea what fits in my case and with my other stuff and what doesn't. Would also like to add that i have a BenQ 144hz monitor so i want it to be compatible with that and for future expansion maybe a slot or two extra for another monitor. Does anyone recommend something? I'd rather not spend over $330. I saw this one on amazon for $199 and thought maybe it would be worth it or should i move up even better. I want something that is better than mine for sure. So please help me out if you can. I really don't know much about PCs, i bought this one from iBP 3 years ago and all i knew was the more i spent the better it was.

My best guess is that you would want a GTX 960 for that. Here's a good one on amazon.

Honestly I just stopped to get gas and I can't check prices right now. How much do you think it's fair?
It's this one https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Installed-Backplate-Graphics-04G-P4-3967-KR/dp/B012NOWERC

I've looked into the 4gb version of the evga gtx 960 and people say that it won't utilize the whole 4gb since it still has 128 bit memory bus width. Can someone shed light on this one? And in their experience, was their any performance gain?

Right now, I'm looking at this on amazon

u/Tsukasashouji · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

So trying my post again, I'm worried about how my graphics card will actually perform when I get it. http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B012NOWERC/ is the exact one that I got but for 300 dollars on sale. Did I really fuck up by getting this or is it alright?

Also, looking at this page I see variations like FTW+, SSC, ACX, SuperSC, Superclocked, etc.
I can make sense of the difference between 4GB and 2GB, and I know FTW+ is better than standard and better than FTW, but what does the rest mean?

u/Aarenas52 · 1 pointr/buildapc

i have a question, wouldnt a normal gtx 960 work as well? be cause it seems to come with an adapter from 6 to an 8 pin see here it is

u/CooIerKing · 1 pointr/Alienware

Thanks.
How do I know which of the many gtx 960s to choose?
amazon example

u/Darkstarx · 1 pointr/buildapc

Hey I'm back again haha, just wondering if this

http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Gaming-Graphics-GV-R938G1-GAMING-4GD/dp/B00ZGF3TUC?
ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
could be replaced with this

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Installed-Backplate-Graphics-04G-P4-3967-KR/dp/B012NOWERC?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref
=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Would all the parts still be compatible etc.

u/Victolabs · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

What are the main differences. if i go with this or this? (Besides size?)

EDIT: Fixed duplicate link.

u/iceduck · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

What about the GTX 960 Ti 4GB? It's the same price and I'd say about the same performance.

u/dl-___-lb · 1 pointr/buildapc

Eh, oops.
This for $260 is your best choice then although it's still way overpriced.

u/jennyWeston · 1 pointr/buildapc

hmmm... why would a video card have 4x HDMI outputs?

Please see: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B012NOWERC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=PDHS67ZL87M&coliid=I1IDSOXMD90ZIU&psc=1
specifically: gtx 960 ssc ACX 2.0+

Thank you for the reply - it answered my question.

So I looked into a few things, and apparently one can "usually" install a graphics card with PCIe 3.0 into a motherboard that can already handle PCIe 2.1.

I'm interested in a updated graphics card like the [GTX 960 (has PCIe 3.0 x16 for bus interface)] (http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Installed-Backplate-Graphics-04G-P4-3967-KR/dp/B012NOWERC/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1465237645&sr=1-1&keywords=graphics+card), while my current AMD HD6870 has PCIe 2.1 ×16. I have i7-930 Bloomfield, so will a graphics like GTX 960 overwhelm the my i7-930 processor? I'm willing to get a graphics card a year or 2 older, if it means that I can get a better performing graphics card that won't conflict with my current rig.

Thank you in advance
