The Sony's not 90W/ch, that's at 6ohm not 8ohm.
Get the Denon X1300 for $310 shipped, factory refurb. It'll wipe the floor with all three of those (much, much better room correction). Besides just HDR10, it also will support Dolby Vision and HLG (likely HDR format for cable tv).
ELAC's are going to be much better than the Pioneer's, but that sub is bad for the money. I can pretty much guarentee you'll be happy with my usually recommended setup. That is, the HTD Level Three bookshelves + center ($565-$625 depending on color; they both are available in B-stock in black for a total of $60 less if you don't mind the possjbility of a few scratches/dents), you don't want towers for your budget, they cost usually 2x as much and usually sound only a teeny bit better. For surrounds, the Fluance AV5 for $70. For the subwoofer, that leaves say $300, I'd just get the sub I have, which is an older Klipsch model (sold for like $450-$475), it currently sells for $260 on Amazon or $220 on Groupon.
Youre not going to find a new/refurbed AVR for any cheaper (thats near as good) better than the 2 listed right now so factor in at least 160+shipping for the Integra. That leaves like 100-150 for speakers which wont get you much beyond 2.0 (or if we get creative 2.1). The issue will be finding something good enough its not disposable. If it were me on that budget I would go 2.1 to start so at least you can get a decent movie watching experience.
Lets say a Dayton SUB-1000- 130$

Disclaimer: I've read through the sidebar threads, but I have probably missed something. I also know NOTHING about electronics.
I have purchased the following things:
turntable: Audio Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt Driven Turntable
soundsticks: Harman Kardon Soundsticks III 2.1 Channel Multimedia Speaker System with Subwoofer
It seemed like if I hooked the soundsticks to the turntable I wouldn't be able to get stereo? I got this because it seemed like an easy setup. The turntable has a built-in preamp. I couldn't figure out how to connect these though.
So then I got:
receiver: Sony STRDH130 2 Channel Stereo Receiver
Here's the user manual for the Sony receiver.
Still couldn't figure out how to connect the soundsticks.
So. Sigh. I got these:
bookshelf speakers: Fluance AV5 Powerful & Dynamic Two-way Bookshelf Speakers for Home Theater & Music Systems
And now it looks like I need wires??! And "banana plugs"?? And why do the banana plugs come with so many pairs?? Do I need 12-pair? Why?
I am obviously not an audiophile, but I like the sound of vinyl, and I just want to listen to some records (jazz, classical, pop, folk, etc.).
What sound I do? Should I return some of these things? What do I need next to connect these things and play music?
Thank you in advance for your help!
I second these or you can look at these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014HR6CQ2/. Both are front ported under $100/pair.
Gotcha, misunderstood when I was looking things up. So you are suggesting
Pair of HTD Level 3 Bookcase $319 a pair (I prefer the black)
1x HTD Level 3 Center at $209
Pair of Fluance AV5 $70
1x Klipsch Sub 12-HG $250
So a total of $858, that seems just about right, thanks!
