I didn't ask about the RAM but I did ask about the Motherboard. Here's the link for the Motherboard.

Haha, okay, thanks a lot. Getting some flak for buying amd but I don't see the issue when it's lasted me for 3 years and through any game I want. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-970A-UD3P-Motherboard-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B00F5R9O46 Did some googling and this came up pretty well recommended so I think I'll go for that one. Not very expensive with a £30 voucher!

I really like ASUS. About the M5A78L-M, it's decent. But I would recommend a Gigabyte GA-970A. It's $70 on Amazon.

The new one I am getting has a heat sink on the VRM Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F5R9O46/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

PSU is maybe 4 or 5 years old not terribly old but for sure not new. I will wait on the replacement from Corsair to stay safe thanks!

I can get these prices on motherboards:

  • MSI 970 Gaming 82€
  • Asrock Fatal1ty 970 Performance 86€
  • Asus M5A97 R2.0 88€
  • Asrock 990FX Extreme3 90€

I was aiming for the Asrock Fatal1ty 970 Performance, do you think I could reach 4.7 on that / would I notice massive difference with Gigabyte 970 UD3P R2 when overclocking and not doing crazy stuff?

Sadly the store does not sell Gigabyte boards, the UD3P would cost me around 100€ (as I lose free shipping on my other parts) and I wouldn't want to pay for extras I am not going to use.

I am going for a single GPU if that helps.

I'm not set on anything honestly. I just want a good computer that will last a while. Is this what you are talking about? You think I should get this with an 8320 instead?

My entire system build:
[Graphics Card] (dis link is broken)
CPU
Hard Drive
RAM
Motherboard
Case
Power Supply

Thanks, man. I hadn't even considered getting a 1070, but it makes sense. It seems to be a lower price than the 980ti currently. I had hoped to find something as powerful as a 908ti for about £350, but it doesn't seem to be possible.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 w/ stock fan

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 760 WINDFORCE 3X OC

Everything is less than a year old, just considering upgrading for more advanced games like Witcher 3 and 144hz gaming.

A lot of people are suggesting you build a pc, and I suggest you to build one too! My previous PC Build was good enough to run iRacing and, Including a BenQ monitor, cost around the £600 mark. I'll post my specs however some of the parts may be discontinued so I'll try and source similar components if they are.

Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P

AMD (Piledriver) FX-6300 3.50GHz

ASUS GTX 750Ti

Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB)

500W EVGA 80+ White Rated PSU

DVD Re-Writable(For Installing Windows)

1TB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive

BitFenix Comrade Midi Tower

BenQ 22inch Monitor

Let me know if want any of the peripherals(Keyboard/Mouse etc) aswell

Total Cost = ~£543

You might be able to find components cheaper on different websites, especially American based ones(NewEgg).

As for assembly, I followed a tutorial from popular Battlefield YouTuber, JackFrags. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WQxr59KRto He uses old components but the build is more or less the same than the specs above.

You also may want to upgrade the Graphics Card, RAM or CPU. I recently upgraded the 750Ti to a 1060 3GB, FX 6300 to a FX 8350 and RAM by an extra 8GB. Remember, if you do upgrade anything like this, you will most likely need a bigger PSU.

Have fun building :P

Edit: As Raptord put, you should also think about getting a Ryzen CPU. But keep in mind, you would need to get a different motherboard as Ryzen uses an alternative socket to AM3+
