I'd recommend an Nvidia GTX 1050, similar models cost about $170 on average.

If you'd like an AMD, I'd say go for an RX 460. Costs about the same, though the Nvidia has a higher peak performance, but you won't really notice that in the games you listed.

And here is a site to quickly compare the various chipsets.

Though this isn't the best time to buy new VGAs, as cryptocurrency miners are inflating the prices greatly.

If you need more, I suppose you could also ask on r/buildapc/

A GTX 1050 2GB or GTX 1050 Ti 4GB should be fine for that.

Amd Ryzens are pretty nice at the moment and cheap. Ryzen 1600 is a good choice. I recommend a SSD disk and a second one HDD so you have a faster system and also an storage disk. Graphic card will be the hardest. Maybe a cheap 1050 2 gb will do.

The total is around 700. You may need to add some more things put this is enough for full functionallity. Also, I wouldnt buy the parts on amazon, but this way you can search them in a good electronics shop from your country which adds the assembly. Standards can be changed easily, that depends on what you preffer.

Audio Interface: Roland Quad-Capture

Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT 770

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600

GPU: NVidia GTX 1050

HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 2 TB

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8 GB

Here's why I chose these components.

Audio Interface: All of Roland's products that I used were well-built, aesthetic and most of all sounding great!

Headphones: I've been using these exact headphones for about 5 years and they are very comfortable, robust and precise in sound.

CPU: The new Ryzen CPUs are in my opinion perfect for music production. They have a nice price-performance ratio and give you 6 cores and 12 threads which can beneficial when using at least 12 tracks (which I assume you will).

GPU: The NVidia GPU is capable of handling most games that are not too graphically intense. You can also pick an equivalent AMD GPU, I have always been with NVidia so that's what I chose.

HDD: The Seagate BarraCuda hard drives are cheap but they work perfectly and 2 TB should be enough to handle all the programs and sample libraries.

SSD: To be honest, I just heard great things of these SSDs. I am sure you can also pick a different brand but I wouldn't risk that with the SSD. 250 GB should be enough for your OS and DAW.

RAM: 16 GB is more than enough and the clock speed of that RAM is pretty high.

Of course you also need other stuff like a PC case, power supply, monitor etc. but I figured I would let you choose these components since they are mostly personal preference. However, I would advise against very cheap power supplies. You don't want them to blow up the whole computer.

So you think I should get a 1050? I was looking a used one for ~$100 on amazon.

u/AppCrisp · 1 pointr/pcmods

Great! I think I'm gonna get it then :o
Yeah; it was my bday a few days ago, so I'm treating myself. ;)
I mean, those still work for ya, yes? Serving the purpose of a good price for something that does the job? :)

For GPU I'm leaning toward a GTX 950 or GTX 1050. There's also a superclocked one, but would that make my computer catch on fire? lol
I'm also currently looking into if it works with my computer/motherboard or not.

Yeah, although in the UK this looks like this is a bit cheaper option
