I'm a few weeks in to veg. Growing in Coco (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I8J1XLK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I've just been using tap water and calimagic. I've been ph'ing the water, BUT I put it lower (~4.0) because my runoff is usually around 8+, and I've been trying to get it down. My plants have been running fine like this for weeks, however 2 days ago, they started looking like this. White spots, browning on tips, and the leaves are slightly yellowing. The white spots are not mites or mildew.
I also have red stems, which I noticed recently, and as I understand it, it's a calcium deficiency. I'm guessing that's probably from having the ph so low.
To fix these issues: Starting yesterday, I've begun watering with ~5.8ph water with calimagic and 1/4 strength nutes. I also raised my mars 300 led from ~15" to ~20". It's only been a day, though, so I'd like to get some informed opinions before I continue further.
I had an issue earlier on where I was under-watering (coco requires more water... the usual rule of watering when it was dry knuckle-deep does not work for coco) so I began watering every day, which solved the problem for about 3 weeks until this issue occurred.
That's all the info that I can think of that might be relevant. Any help is appreciated, and please note if you have experience growing in coco or not since I believe that it makes a big difference in how the growing process works.
Thanks in advance!
edit: clarification
That sounds like a great little experiment, did you take pictures?
50/50 coco/pearlite, is that produced more balanced ph results or do you have to use any ph ups/downs? I heard with nutes the ph can climb, do you have any issues with this?
Is this a good product? It seems like it wouldnt require any pearlite

I have already bought the fox farm trio nutes, would that work well with the 50/50 mix, and be all i need?
