Docking stations were the rage about 4-6 years ago, but Android have been steadily moving AWAY from dedicated docks because consumers see them as ways to squeeze more money out of them due to lack of standardization. Charge ports could be on on top, bottom, sides, and at different locations. There is no "standard" dock.
Though in the past 12-24 months manufacturers seem to have standardized with the charge port at the bottom center. And some have advocated the use of "car docks" on desks.
