hmmm.... he COULD upgrade his grinder, a baratza virtuoso is a step up from his capresso infinity (that's what i think that is), especially when it comes to espresso making.

there are things like custom tamps that you can get and get their name on it? I'm not familiar with the breville machine so not sure if the tamps you get actually work on the breville one, sometimes they are smaller.

other cool things include a siphon coffee machine, you would want to get a butane burner for it, i'm not from america so I don't really know what people recommend of amazon lol but i'll link something for reference:

or a kyoto style drip tower, which is for making iced drip coffee which is great and this is also somethign I would NEVER get myself (price and all) but would be awesome to have but be aware of the practicality of size and where to put it lol, note: it takes 5-6 hours to drip a few cups haha:

Remember, strength and extraction are two different variables, and effect taste differently. Over extracted coffee tends to bring out some of the nastiness of the bean and ends up bitter. If you like stronger coffee, you can simply increase the amount of coffee in the coffee:water ratio. I too generally like most of my coffees strong, and use a V60 as my daily brewer. Some tasters like to 'overdose' a particular brew method and see what comes out of it.

Auto dripper idea: like this? This is a novel idea and interesting for cold brew, but for a hot brew it removes one of these variables I keep talking about: turbulence. In a pourover, you can control flow and speed, but also where you are pouring. It is generally accepted that a steady pour around a nickel-sized circle in the middle is good technique for a V60, but I have had interesting cups from people that vary that idea and increase or decrease turbulence. I have even seen someone stir the slurry as it is dripping. Some of these signature pour styles have yielded terrible cups, and some have provided very different tastes, but that is part of the experimentation process.

If you were really wanting something auto, the moccamaster is considered an 'automatic pourover' and gives a very good batch of coffee. I know several people that are very pleased with them.
