I have a computer hardware question. This might not be the IDEAL sub to ask, but I know there are many PC enthusiasts here.
I have a 6 year old gaming computer. It was pretty much top-of-the-line when I built it. I believe my GPU is my current bottle neck, and am considering replacing it. I'm wondering what the community would recommend for the upcoming 3.0 release, but something that wouldn't be completely overpowered for the rest of my components. I've been holding off on building a new PC until S42/SC are closer to release (which could still be years?)
Current Build:
My current GPU's Core Clock runs at 880 MHz with 1536 Stream Processors
Memory: 2GB GDDR5 @ 1375MHz (5.5Gbps)
I'd like more video RAM for sure, but i don't want to spend too much now and take away from my budget for my next PC. I'm considering a EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
Is this going to be a waste if my CPU can't keep up?
Is this not strong enough? Would it still be my bottleneck?
Is their an issue running an AMD system with an Nvidia Card? Should I stick to an AMD card?
What would you recommend for 3.0 (among other games), that would more-or-less match my system and be over/under powered?
