Okay. You basically picked the best parts of every category, apart from the ram, and put them in a build. That does not make the build bad, it just makes it complete overkill. With the exception of overwatch, to reach 100 FPS there in best settings the GTX 1070 is not wrong, see http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/2200-overwatch-gpu-benchmark-and-fps-tests. But if you play that on low as well you should get a used GTX 970.

Mainboard is unnecessary expensive, cooler bigger than needed even if you want to overclock more than mildly, i7 is wasted money over an i5, the 950 Pro also serves no purpose. Half of that ram would be enough, half of that half would work as well. The R5 is a good case and I won't criticize that choice. For the psu a 550W unit would be perfectly fine.

Here the Fury is a placeholder for the GTX 1070. Though, like I said, whether that is even close to a sound buy depends on the wanted overwatch settings.

It's a very good build. However I'd change this:
You can find the 6600k for cheaper than what you have there (https://www.amazon.fr/Intel-BX80662I56600K-Core-i5-6600K-LGA1151/dp/B010T6DCBS/ref=pd_sbs_107_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=KA44G8T927YEHBT73H79&th=1) 250 euros.

I'd also swap the power supply for a gold one. You'll find seasonic or xfx for cheaper than that.

Also, don't waste money on the OS. You know what I mean... install Linux.

From amazon.fr : R5 1600 : 235 €

i5 6600k : 260 €

See if you can upgrade to 6600k chip. I have it and works awesome. £40 extra but if you are using this for gaming - go for it!!
As for monitors, i am a big fan of the ultra wide monitors, i know LG and Samsung have some nice ones. I would also recommend getting an HDD to go along with your SSD. 240GB is not enough. I'm struggling with 1TB.

You could order the 660k in Germany amazon should deliver to france and the 6600k is 238€ there.

Another thing that is worth a thought is a 21:9 monitor. I really enjoy mine.

The rest of the components look fine to me but I could be missing something.

And this motherboard? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01AUSEBHE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

EDIT: They dont seem to be listed as compatible with my other PC parts for some reason

Thanks for the info!

Aha, I wanted to make the joke, but you can never tell how it's going to go down.

Problem with PC's is I just end up dreaming about building my dream machine.

  • Dan Case A4 / N Case M1 - £200
  • GTX 1080 - £620 approx
  • i5 6600K - £235
  • ASUS Z170 Pro - £150 (not at all sure about buying an ASUS motherboard)
  • Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD 512GB - £285
  • Some Ram - £150
  • Another SSD - £150

Then maybe I want to custom watercool the whole thing for another £500

And suddenly I can't afford to eat for the next few years.

You said you aren't interested in a GPU as of right now, so that kind of rules out ryzen since they don't have integrated
GPU's. This i5k hits the sweet spot for your needs. Unless of course if your budget allows, then go for an i7.

Thinking about my first build, how's this look?

My main concern is the GPU, is this the best brand of R9 390? Is this even the best GPU in the price range?

lol the feels of someone that knows nothing about computer components. Motherboards dont directly effect performance they are just the bed for all your components to sit and talk to each other on. the components that directly effect performance are the RAM + GPU + CPU and sometimes your hard drive but not the point where you would need to think about it. that motherboard simply enables you to install the components that are compatible with it, you dont get anything else with it and tbh unless your looking to overclock which i DONT AGREE WITH AT YOUR KNOWLEDGE it doesnt matter what motherboard you get aslong as it is compatible with your parts. oh and just get some basic 1600mhz or 1866mhz ram your ram speed doesnt matter as long as its the average speed. ***IMPORTANT**** you have to make sure that the cpu your buy e.g https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-BX80662I56600K-Core-i5-6600K-LGA1151/dp/B010T6DCBS/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1501020204&sr=1-5&keywords=i5 has the right socket for your motherboard for example this is a lga1151 socket CPU and will not fit in the motherboard you have linked as it is lga1150. Pls watch this and itll answer all your questions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw

Sorry but why 280$ for i3-6100? With this price you will get an i5-6600/k...
