A friend sent me to this sub and after lurking for a week I've come to notice everyone recommends having three paris of shoes: A white athletic sneaker, classy-looking boots, and a casual pair. I have wolverine boots and my current shoes have holes at the bottom of the sole (I walk A LOT). They're skate shoes--huf dylans--and they've lasted me well over a year. I'm looking for something durable and comfortable as my casual shoe, maybe some hi tops?

EDIT: I've also been debating getting white sneakers, it's been years since I've owned a nice white pair of shoes and after sifting through this sub I've noticed the white shoes really do make certain outfits come to life. My only problem with white shoes is that they get dirty too fast. I don't want to be cleaning my shoes every time I wear them and like I said I enjoy walking a lot. I kinda like the dirty white shoe look, but in my search I cam across these john varvatos and I was wondering if I could substitute the white for the sand color or light brown or maybe light grey and still get the same effect?

TLDR; what are y'alls opinion on skate shoes? And could o substitute all white shoes for a tan or light grey color? Or should everyone own a pair of white shoes?
