Yeah, they specifically made sure the PC Kinect wasn't seen strictly as a gaming device, most likely so people wouldn't immediately dismiss it for research and development of apps in the medical and robotics fields and whatnot, but I do think there are some PC games that support it... Hell, even GameStop sells it.

) too where it just seems to simulate the mouse and can be used for games.
The controller doesn't really have many uses outside of gaming though.
This is awesome because it shows that, even with peripherals closely associated with gaming, they can see the wider potential and avoid marketing it to a narrow audience. If and when VR becomes a tangible and available part of consumer technology, I could see them making sure to focus on the potential of the device on not only their own gaming machine, but all of the Windows machines that could use this for so many other things.
On the positive side of the Kinect for Windows, you can just buy it from Amazon! Doubt it will be very useful, though...
