Whoa whoa whoa, hold on. Do you at least have a knife honer? They should run sub-$20 and you should always have one to go with a knife, no matter how cheap/shitty or expensive/posh your knife is.
A dull knife is very unsafe in the kitchen.
I know you said your knife isn't dull, but if you don't have a knife sharpener and you've used your knife frequently for even 1 week, I guarantee you it's already less sharp then when you pulled it out of the packaging.
Something like this should do the trick.
I made this this morning using exclusively a Global G-48 Santoku knife which was meant for really veggies, but I used the knife on the pork belly cut and after honing with my knife honer, slicing through the pork belly was like slicing through butter.
