Reviews are pretty good. I have a question as I have been casually playing on a TV for years. If I am buying a 2070S can that use "freesync" too? Or do I have to/ should I buy a gsync monitor? The G-Sync version of this is nearly $200 more. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B078TTXLW5?th=1

This model on Costco's site (currently $500)

will be on sale for $250 on December 2nd.

Here's the amazon link to read reviews

Basically: 32in, 1440p, 144Hz, Freesync (haven't found if it is gsync compatible) and is a VA panel (which, we aren't surprised about at this price)

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B078TTXLW5/ 905$ CA 144Hz 1440p VA panel w/G-Sync (color quality similar to IPS but not as horrifically bad as TN)

Though personally if I had a 3k budget for a new computer monitor I'd never get three. I'd get one extremely nice monitor. 4K, 120Hz+, HDR1000 spec, IPS or QDOT, and 384+ zones of FALD (local dimming backlight). Then use my old two monitors for the other stuff. Your eyes are only on one monitor for gaming after-all. Just got this one.

Have a 27" IPS next to it, Colors have barely any difference, the blacks however. lol.

If you can't do 32inch ignore this. I was strictly looking for 27inch and was having a struggle deciding. So if you're ok with 32inch, I highly recommend what I end up getting. I've only had it for half a month, but it's making me want a second one.

This one or the FreeSync one. Today, right now, nothing else is even close.

As at least another mentioned, 1440p would be nice. I think in today's world, having less than that for a desktop can be difficult to organize. Maybe it's me, but after using my 1440p monitors at home, I have a very hard time at work with 1080p monitors.

How about this one below? I've bought two of them so far; last came last week. I bought one from Amazon Warehouse, the other from Beach Camera, both listed as "used". Both came great and the discount was worth the potential hassle to return it if needed! Worth considering if you're willing to expand the budget a bit ;-) How does the saying go? "You can't afford to pass it up!"

I feel like 144 FPS at 1440P with a 1070 is a bit rough. But considering the games you play mostly are pretty light this wouldn't be a issue you'll likely notice often.

The monitor you mentioned AOC CQ32G1 you complain about the brightness not being great with overdrive I would highly suggest against putting it on the highest setting of overdrive anyway most of the time it's so monitor manufactures can advertise 1 ms even if the image looks so bad because of the overdrive effect where the pixel overshoots the color value by so much typically if you can select different overdrive strengths people usually choose the one right below the highest setting as it's typically a good compromise of image quality and response time

Anyway onto the monitor recommendation for 32" 1440P for $450 this comes to mind https://www.amazon.com/LG-32GK850G-B-Gaming-Monitor-Refresh/dp/B078TTXLW5/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=LG+32GK850G-B&qid=1571491312&s=electronics&sr=1-1 It's on sale for $450 and is one hell of a monitor but the AOC one you originally chose isn't bad either might be a better pick for you

Are you thinking 1440p? Or are you looking like ultrawide? 34” is tough to find with g-sync unless you’re looking at ultrawide in which case the AlienWare AW341 is what you’re looking for. It’s 3440x1440 G-sync 100hz, IPS.

Other than that, give me a minute I’ll try to find the other one I’m thinking of.

  • Edit: LG makes a 166hz 34” IPS 2560x1080 with G-Sync. LG-34UC89G. Wouldn’t really recommend that resolution though it’s far worse than 3440x1440 and only costs like $200 less.

Lastly I found the one I was thinking of. It’s another LG, the LG-32GK850G it’s 32”, 1440p, G-Sync 144hz. I think it’s a tn panel. This is also about $200 less than the AlienWare

Down to $450! I paid a little over 600 back in February. If it goes a little lower, I'm saving up for 2 more. https://www.amazon.com/LG-32GK850G-B-Gaming-Monitor-Refresh/dp/B078TTXLW5/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=LG+32GK850G&qid=1573776606&sr=8-2

u/galloway188 · 1 pointr/buildapc

It’s expensive because it’s a gsync display with ips panel. You will not find a cheaper iPs gsync monitor

Here’s a 32 lg but it’s not ips panel

You are a rational guy, you don't want to buy based on feeling. I can understand that.
I can put it differently: I don't have the same criteria when I buy a screen. Because TN is not colours and contrasts enough, it's a no go for me. I'll prefer a fidele monitor boosted for gaming, basically because the gain of TN panels is, I think, too small. Most of the game I play is not competitive, so the vast majority of game will be absolutely fine on my current IPS, even better because it will be more immersive and beautiful. Even if I do competitive game (like Overwatch lately), it's still very good, and the gain of TN still to small to my taste.

I mean, in what your AOC is superior for gaming than your Dell? Do you noticed a better latency on it (I don't speak of gray-to-gray, I speak of the delay the screen process the input frame). Is one of them so badly calibrated that the color delta is > 3? Do you require Gsync or FreeSync in order to avoid frame cuts?
I hope those questions will help you select your screen.

Oh and btw, I play on a LG 32GK850G-B.

and this one is 144hz, 1440 with g sync, and 32"

so what exactly are you trying to say?

u/maultify · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Are you insane, or are you joking? The LG 32GK850G has g sync. Go to any review, any spec sheet, go to the Amazon product page: https://www.amazon.com/LG-32GK850G-B-Gaming-Monitor-Refresh/dp/B078TTXLW5

u/Free_Dome_Lover · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Maybe this is a good go between? https://www.amazon.com/LG-32GK850G-B-Gaming-Monitor-Refresh/

I had the Acer Predator with the same panel as the PG279Q, it had a few issues so I returned it and picked this up for $50ish more. Having used both and compared, I don't see any drawbacks to the VA panel on this monitor, it's actually better than the IPS panel from my viewing. I don't have any issues with viewing angles because I am always sitting directly in front of it. It's big at 32in but not curved and not ultrawide, I think it's one of the biggest panels you can get that is 1440p, 144hz, gsync and not ultrawide.

It was for this card. The promo is listed down below in the "Special offers and product promotions" section.

The code came in an email with a link to eligible products. Monitors that it applies to are:
