RO would be higher in overall TDS (total dissolved solids) vs RO/DI water since it lacks the deionization. RO/DI will give you 0.00 TDS ultra pure water. Lab quality shit. Not like your plants would care though about the DI bit. The systems are about the same price. Just an extra filter.
Using either one, you'll need to be adding the minerals back in, so BE SURE to have a form of calmag ready.
I've seen my water report and the garbage that is in it. I would rather start with fresh water with NOTHING in it and add back what I want.
