A 3600 dpi optical sensor provides precision targeting, pinpoint accuracy and rock-solid performance for when your sights are set on victory. In game dpi switching lets you change the mouse's tracking characteristics to match the situation. Prices aren't very accurate for the UK, thanks for the list though:

Tt Black - £25

CM Xornet - £17

Gigabyte M6800 - £8

Coolermaster Storm Spawn - £27

Logitech G400 - £28

Corsair M60 - £48

Have linked to the cheapest reputable shop selling each of those for the UK, maybe someone else can finish the list.

I believe the Logitech G400 is the new version of the one I have had for yonks the MX518. Inexpensive and pretty damn good quality. At the end of the day, short of using a very cheap office mouse: it's all down to the player's skill.

>Logitech G400 - £28

Man I just bought that mouse a week ago for £24 on Amazon, that rise in price was quick :(

Anyway, here's what I could find on the rest of them (also sorted by price for your viewing pleasure):

Gigabyte M6800 - £8

CM Xornet - £17

Microsoft Sidewinder X3 - £22

Tt Black - £25

Coolermaster Storm Spawn - £27

Logitech G400 - £28

Steelseries Ikari - £30

Mionix Naos 3200 - £32

Logitech G500 - £33

Gigabyte M8000X - £36

Razer Deathadder - £37

Corsair M60 - £48

Logitech G600 - £52

Logitech g9x - £55

Roccat Kone - £57

Steelseries Sensei - £59

Logitech G700 - £62

Razer Naga - £66

I'm bound to have cocked this up somehow so if anyone has any corrections or better prices just let me know and I'll edit it in.

Ich denke mit der G400 von Logitech kannst du nichts falsch machen. Hat meine MX518 vor ein paar Jahren jedenfalls gut ersetzen können.

Edit: Sorry habe schamlos gelogen. Habe keine G400 sondern eine G400s.

Noppo Choc Mini

Steelseries 6gv2

Razer Black widow

Fairly solid choices without spending too much.

Zowie EC1 Evo

Zowie FK

SS Kinzu

G400

Razer Deathaddar

MS 3.0

Again solid choices for mice.

BenQ xl2420T

Samsung S23A700D

Asus VG236H

All these monitors are 120hz.

I'd also recommend getting a decent mousemat.

SS Qck Heavy

Anything in the QCK series will do you fine.

When your MX518 dies (I hope that day isn't soon for me, I love it), just grab a G400 if you don't want to find a reseller for the discontinued one. Same shell, and it doesn't have the odd pattern on top.

> hard-wired standard mouse and keyboard (non-gaming), WiFi to my router (solid 54Mbps).

Get a gaming keyboard and mouse.
Especially a gaming mouse.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-G400-Optical-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00573Y2RC

There is no comparison in performance between a standard mouse - even a £30 one designed for office/desktop. It really matters.

A gaming keyboard also helps a lot. Millisecond key latency isn't so much of an issue but the ability to clearly and accurately register multiple key presses is. Standard Keyboards suffer when you press more than about 6 keys at a time. Or press 6 keys fast.

Finally, wireless. Not so much of a problem - but if you can plug in a wire. Do it. It might be milliseconds most of the time - but wireless can do funky things when the neighbor turn on the microwave next door.

Logitech G400 or Logitech G400s are both great mice if you're looking for wired mice. Both under your price range.

u/Harry101UK · 2 pointsr/gaming

Yeah, I have one of those right now. Fantastic things. Check out the Logitech G400, it's a newer version. =3

Do you need the OS & optical drive too?

Anyway I went on the assumption you did. Here's what I did.

I think an i5 in this build would have to be at the expense of the GPU so instead I went for an Ivy Bridge i3.

The mouse, headphones and microphone would bring this upto ~£725. If you want a generic keyboard then his would go down to £700. I've gone for a separate headphones and the clip on mic as these are what I've seen recommended for budget options rather than cheap "gaming" headsets with both.

Here are the benchmarks for the 7770

Came to reccomend this Logitech G400

Does look that bad.

Here are a few suggestions.

I am not a fan of Antec and I have had more than a few blow out on me back in the day. I understand that a lot of people are Antec fans and that the Green series is popular because of the units good performance.

But 380watts just seems low. Regardless if it is within spec of your system. It's always good to have a little overhead for future expansion needs. Also a PSU working at 80% vs. 40% is putting a lot more strain on the unit.

Consider this PSU if it is within your budget.

For your input devices consider these two.

Keyboard - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Wired-Keyboard-200-Business/dp/B004LR879Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1346386012&sr=1-4

Mouse - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-G400-Optical-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00573Y2RC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1346385838&sr=1-1

The keyboard is no thrills. Feel free to spend more if you desire. It is cheap and will likely feel cheap... but work.

That mouse seems like the cheapest "gaming" mouse on the UK Amazon site. Should do you well. Is leagues above the mouse in your quote above. Could always go with a G500, G700, Microsoft mouse etc. depending on your budget. Put more importance on the mouse over the keyboard. Don't go too cheap on the mouse!

Lastly, see if you can afford to bump up that 550 ti to a 560 ti. The 384 core version is a good buy at £155.98.
http://www.dabs.com/products/evga-geforce-gtx-560-ti-900mhz-1gb-pci-express-hdmi-superclocked-7VQG.html?src=2

But if you could stretch it any more, the 448 core version will give you a card that will last you as little while longer. It doesn't look like it's in stock. Maybe elsewhere?

Have Fun!

i can personally only recommend the ones i have owned.

If you are afraid of driver software or are too lazy to keep updating get yourself a ZOWIE FK1 or 2. I personally use a FK1 and it lets you cycle threw 4 dpi settings and 4 hz styles, all without any software.

The other is the Steelerseries Rival, i loved this mouse, one of the best sensors i have personally encountered, the only thing that bothers me is its oddly shaped once you have played with a more "standard" shaped mouse, as in if you are used to a normal size it can hurt your hand.

Logitech G400 or MX518, boths saddly not produced anymore but these where the best "older" mice i have ever used.

Zowie FK1

G400

MX518

Iv always hated that analogy.
A better guitar wont make you play guiatar better, it might sound better but it doesnt have any impact on how you play. However better running shoes, better tennis rackets better footballs will help you in the long run as playing with shoddy equiptment builds bad habits.

Playing with some old football will hurt you and limit your potential, and its even worse with mice.

Bad generic mice have arrays of issues regarding top mouse register speed, locking up, non liniar acceleration, angle snapping, which create bad habits for players and will become a problem at higher levels of play.

Im not saying that a better mouse makes you a better player, you probably can get to masters using anything, but you might as well get some solid hardware if you want to be competitive, to stop yourself forming bad habits and have a solid ground to build yourself on. Its like, sure you could use a track pad to play sc2, but you are limit ting yourself in the long run. You are placing unnecessary handicaps on yourself.

You dont need anything over £30 and you probably dont really need a mechanical or expensive keyboard, in my opinion the mouse is where serious issues are with cheap hardware. A g400 is in my opinion the best mouse on the market, and its pretty cheap
