Hello all -

I'm not a regular here, but looking for some general help. I have a black tie event this weekend and the dress I was going to borrow fell through....they never got around to dropping it off and now I'm stuck!!
I have this gold, sequin bridesmaid dress that I can wear as a backup, but I was going to try to do some easy-ish things to make it look a little more formal/less basic silhouette-wise Any suggestions? note: I do not have a sewing machine. it'd be all hand-sewing. also my sewing skills are pretty basic.

Here's the dress: https://www.amazon.com/MACloth-Elegant-Sequin-Bridesmaid-Wedding/dp/B0736YSP1D

I was thinking of removing the straps (it has stays so I think it will stay up on it's own alright), putting a small dart in the center of the neckline to lower it slightly, and maybe cutting a slit in the skirt? maybe? haha. It only has to last for an evening.

Any other ideas you can give me? Thanks so much!!
