Just a tad over budget but you can easily bring it down to $1400 if you feel like it by going with an i5 for $200. And I have the optical drive needed to install windows, etc. With this GPU you should be more than good for now and the near future. glhf!

I am slowly transitioning into getting every part replaced in my old Desktop, and I am at the point of changing my case and motherboard but I am unsure if it will be worth it to do it.

Graphics Card
It looks like you want to play at 1080p resolution(which is great btw) @60fps or higher. You also seem like you might want to try VR later. Your best options for a graphics card is the 1070 or a 1060. The 1060 is a cheaper option with VERY good performance. Depending on the model you get, you can achieve close performance to a 1070 for under $300.
CPU
To be completely honest with you, an i7-6700k sounds nice and all, but in terms of gaming, its not all that. You want to do streaming and stuff right? Well an i5 6600K would do fine for streaming most games. It really just depends if you're willing to cut cost by looking at performance efficiency. If you don't mind then by all means go with the i7, its a great cpu of course.

*I'm not really sure, if you're getting a k-cpu then you should probably get a z170 board. You should know that if you decide to go 1440p, you're only gonna be getting 60hz unless you want to spend $500< on a higher refresh rate monitor.

If you decide to go with an i5 and 1060 instead, then you end up saving a couple hundred which you can use for things like a better case or custom sleeves for aesthetics. If you want to stick with your current MOBO your best choice would be the i7-2700k. However, I would recommend you to upgrade to Skylake, which means new MOBO, CPU and new RAM.

What's your budget? I would start from the mobo and case and move from there for the color scheme.

Mabye check out MSI's Krait Gaming mobo. I haven't had to deal with customer support with them but here is a list of z-170 boards with a similar price as the asus board.

For sound on the tv go to playback devices and select the option for your tv speakers.
