BTW in the Smokies when everyone else’s olive oil was frozen in the bottles, butter was fine. The key is to store it in a zip lock. That way it is contained even if it melts. I also store the butter nested in the pan so it is protected.
I carry the tent. And the frying pan. My wife carries the rest of the cook set (the MSR, 1.7 liter pot and fuel). We’ve tried a lot of different set ups but that has been what we’ve liked best.
Faster and lest fuel than a pocket rocket and titanium pot (which now both stay home). Others prefer the pot and a “real” skillet.
