If the frame is metal- I wouldn't be surprised if it was interfering. A solution may be to have an usb wifi adapter attached- like so: http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-N300-Wi-Fi-Adapter-WNA3100/dp/B003G2Z1M6/ref=sr_1_18?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1462994345&sr=1-18&keywords=usb+wifi+adapter

This will allow you to mount the receiver outside of the frame, and redirect the signal properly into your computer. Note, it would have to be one with a long enough cord to be outside of the frame and still be attached to your computer. Not one that directly plugs in to your computer. Cord- necessity.

Thank you. I think I purchased a WPS protected setup dongle only (.https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-N300-Wi-Fi-Adapter-WNA3100/dp/B003G2Z1M6). At least that's how it would appear...

Purchasing your linked dongle right now...
