100% agree.

I use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock SPF 70. I have oily skin but it works great and does not grease me up!

u/texanandes · 5 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

So over the past 6 months for the most part my skin has been dramatically improving but it's still not where I want it to be. Right now this is what I do -

Morning
Wash face with [Simple Foaming Cleanser] (http://www.simpleskincare.com/our-products/product/foaming-cleanser.html)
Moisturize with [Simple Day Cream, Vital Vitamin] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G4EI59E/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Use [Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunscreen] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038ZXYP2/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
And then apply makeup

Night
Remove makeup with [Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes] (http://www.simpleskincare.com/our-products/product/cleansing-facial-wipes.html) and [Simple Eyemakeup Remover pads] (http://www.simpleskincare.com/our-products/product/eye-makeup-remover-pads.html)
Wash face with [Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash] (http://www.simpleskincare.com/our-products/product/moisturizing-facial-wash.html)
And use [Simple Nourishing 24HR Day/Night Cream] (http://www.simpleskincare.com/our-products/product/nourishing-24hr-day-night-cream.html)

I still have some pretty unflattering skin tone discoloration, and I'm starting to get a surge in acne the sides of my forehead (I'm thinking this might be my makeup primer, Rimmel Stay Matte). Should I swap out any of these products for something better, is there something else I should add in?

I really like using simple because they're supposed to be big on no artificial perfumes, dyes, or chemicals, and since I've had such problems with my skin before they've done wonders for my complexion.

Edit: So since I was downvoted I suppose I should clear up what my 'stupid question' is. Am I using the right products, or is there something obvious I left out of my routine? Does anybody else have any history with using Simple's products, so are they a good choice or not?

I'm not sure about the ingredients but this one works swimmingly for me because I like to wear makeup over it.

Neutrogena SPF ultra sheer Liquid. The liquid is the part that makes it different from other products in the same brand.

BLECH!!!! I bet it was super cheap. If you spend a little more you'll get a better finish and less odor. I'm a natural redhead and obsessed with skin care.

I don't know how familiar you are with sunblocks but there are 2 classes of them. Physical blockers and chemical blockers. Physical blockers are superior as they offer instant protection and they won't degrade in sunlight. However they're often opaque and white. You can often find sunscreens that are a mix of the two to get the benefits of both.

This stuff Is pretty amazing and easy to find. It goes on clear and dries matte with no scent.

This shisheido suncreen is my personal favorite. It dries super matte and soft. But it can be hard to find.

The Neutrogena Ultrasheer Liquid is really popular too but I found it to be irritating.

I didn't put on sunscreen for the longest time because I hate it running and getting in my eyes too. I just picked up this liquid sunscreen from the drug store and it works really well. It's not like a cream so it leaves a really fine layer - I sweat a lot and this has been a godsend!

Here are my suggestions:
AM Cleanse: [La Roche Posay Toleriane DermoCleanse](https://www.amazon.com/Roche-Posay-Toleriane-Cleanser-Sensitive-Glycerin/dp/B000IOBEG20 or, my favorite Glossier Milky Jelly
Hydrating Toner: Thayer's Rose Petal
serum: The Ordinary makes awesome serums and explain a lot in the description boxes
moisturizer: Neutrogena HydroBoost Gel Cream
SPF Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid
Oil/Balm Jojoba Oil, this one's currently unavailable, but any will do.
Micellar Water Garnier Micellar Water
Tougher Cleanser I prefer Cerave SA Wash because I always feel like I need a bit more oomph. Avoid foamy stuff, they'll dry out too much.
chemical exfoliant I like The Ordinary Glycolic Toner but I'm dry. The Generic of these Salicylic Acid (BHA) pads work better if you're oily.

This one is my holy grail. It has the consistency of water and sinks in 100%. No smells, not greasy or anything and layers well under a moisturizer or makeup

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunscreen is the best one that I’ve used! It’s the consistency of water and it absorbs super fast + works extremely well

I've been using retin-a for about a year now. The first 6 months I was using adapalene (0.1%) with benzoyl peroxide (essentially the "epiduo" recipe) and it worked, but not as well as I had hoped. I still had whiteheads.
So I bumped up to retin-a (0.025%) which gave me excellent results. My whiteheads all but disappeared. I still had cystic acne, which was attributed to birth control- I changed pill types, and now am just getting rid of everything! (I know BCP isn't super helpful for you, as a guy, but I thought I'd mention it anyway)
I cleanse nightly using the cetaphil cleanser after taking off makeup with oil. I use a moisturizer every night and morning (but only after sunscreen). I started out with Cetaphil in the tub, but it broke me out a fair bit. I use Clinique's DDMG instead. My sunscreen (daily!!!) is Neutrogena's liquid sunscreen- this one.

I no longer have any active acne (knock on wood)- just red marks I'm trying to get rid of.

Is this the one you're talking about? I've tried the dry touch and I felt that it was quite greasy! Do you know how does the clear face compare to that one?

u/honbadok · 1 pointr/AskWomen

I loooooove this sunscreen. Only one that doesn’t leave me feeling greasy and gross and like I need to wash it off as soon as I’m done being outside. I was looking for something to use very frequently to slow wrinkles down now that I’m in my mid 30s. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0038ZXYP2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Sunscreens are always too heavy for my face. The lightest one I've found has been Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid. It comes in a small, hard-topped bottle and is fairly watery. Doesn't give me that oily sunscreen-face feeling.

I have dry skin as well and I've been using Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock. I'm pretty happy with it because it dries really smooth and non-greasy, so it's easy to apply makeup over. I also feel like since it's liquid it irritates flakes on my face less when I apply it, but I might just be imagining that.

u/Laureng33 · 0 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

it mostly depends on your skin type.. but I'd suggest a sheer sunscreen. Nutregena makes a good one! [Here is a link] (http://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Ultra-Liquid-Sunscreen-Spectrum/dp/B0038ZXYP2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427292796&sr=8-2&keywords=neutrogena+sheer+sunscreen)

That way you wont have to worry about the white showing, just make sure you let it sit on your skin for about 15 minutes before you go in the water or anything.

I wouldn't personally reccomend a chemical spf because it may generate free radicals which would cause irritation and aging and I'm not about that, but If that's no concern of yours then go for it! They're generally safe and may work better. But remember that has to sit on your skin for 20 minutes before you're under the sun..

I hope that helped.
