Mechanical Engineer here, some things to know/think about:

Hi sHoRtBuss

First off - thats nice that you are setting up a computer for your fiance.

Secondly - a quadro P600 is listed as fully supported on this site:

https://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

And is priced at 170$ on this site:

https://www.amazon.com/PNY-VCQP600-PB-NVIDIA-Quadro-P600/dp/B06X9DWQM6/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=quadro+P2000&qid=1554293790&s=gateway&sr=8-4

so that's the route I would take (or a similar route - a supported Quadro card thats within your price range).

Just be sure to get the adapters to get from that card to your monitor(s).

Hope this helps,

Toby

well, the Quadro pro is a pretty good card, it seems like its from 2017. tho you didnt tell us what you plan on doing with this.

Heres the same card on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/PNY-VCQP600-PB-NVIDIA-Quadro-P600/dp/B06X9DWQM6

and heres a PDF specs sheet:

https://www.nvidia.com/content/dam/en-zz/Solutions/design-visualization/productspage/quadro/quadro-desktop/quadro-pascal-p600-data-sheet-us-nv-704532-r1.pdf

without knowing what you plan on using ot for, cant provide any more info. nor do we know where this is coming from, id say be careful of "too good to be true deals" and since ive purchased many tech items from people online where you meet in person, see what they say about whats included, why it doesnt have any plugs or anything else.

Quadro k5000 for $100, it's practically theft!

Guaranteed to decimate a 1050ti at CAD.

If you need more modern features then Kepler offers, even a puny p600 will win at AutoCAD.

Scour craigslist and ebay too, you can find these cards stupid cheap sometimes - either massive corporate surplus or people just don't know what they're selling!

So would this be better than a 1050Ti? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06X9DWQM6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1510163702&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=nvidia+quadro&dpPl=1&dpID=51Y3q%2BhaaTL&ref=plSrch Only 2GB of RAM but it's not too expensive. It is only for schoolwork so I'm not sure if a Quadro is justifiable for me.

How bout this, or if power means that much to him this. Both are better, and the second is better in every way, including power.

I would go with one of these for each computer. It's approximately 10 times as powerful as the NVS 310s you're currently using, and has 4 display outputs so you only need one per computer to run all the required displays.

For 3d stuff, a quadro might be a better option for you having much better driver optimization for that kind of thing. An entry level pascal quadro or a higher end older generation maxwell quadro won't be too much most likely. Something like a p400 or maybe a p600 aren't too expensive and will usually perform better in things like 3d modeling etc than a "gaming" GPU.

Edit: AMD also have workstation GPUs if you absolutely want AMD. Firepro I believe they are called.
