Showering at an [8]-[10] is the only way to go man! Buy an LED color changing shower head and listen to your favorite tunes. For me personally I go for some mellow trance like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjTSpgAm8QM but whatever makes you feel good is the goal here.
The combination of the constantly changing rainbow of colors from the shower head, the hot water, and the music is awesome. Toss in your own CEVs and you have a fun time. Of course at [8] anything is awesome, but if I know I am going to get really high I make sure I have time for a shower! I love a hot shower after a long day though, so if you have an aversion to water you might not like it as much as I do.

Edit: I guess if you are actually just wanting a shower to get clean, and you aren't interested in a magic carpet ride through space my method might not be one to consider.
