Reddit mentions of Onkyo HT-S8409 7.1-Channel Network A/V Receiver/Speaker Package

Background!

What I own so far:

• Logitech Z 906 5.1 Surround. Used for LCD TV, computer and gaming consoles for now.
  
• Audioengine A2 Powered Desktop Speakers (2) - Not in use. Bring stored for future.
  
• Fiio E09K Desktop Headphone Amp - Not being used. May connect to desktop rig eventually.
  
• Onkyo HT-S8409 7.1-Channel 3D Ready Network Home Theater System. Bought this with the intention of it being my home theater system. Probably outdated by now.
  
• Onkyo HT-RC430 5.1-Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver - Not used prob going to sell.
  
• Sennheiser HD 595 headphones Main PC Desktop drivers.
  
• Sennheiser HD 600 Barely used! Want a good amp to use them with.
  
  What I'm looking to get/upgrade to:
  
  
• Better 7.1 system or at least receiver. I'm looking to prep with a decent 7.1 system for the future. Onkyo used to be really great but everyone keeps saying Denon is better.
  
• A really good tube amp that won't break the bank. The whole DAC/Amp thing confuses me. Would use it for audio out on my Desktop to Sennheiser headphones. Had my eyes on some stuff from Schiit such as the Lyr 3, Valhalla 2, but open to suggestions!

• Don't really care about internet streaming because I use Google Chromecast, Sonos etc that will hook into a receiver. Sonos does most everything but I have two Play:5's (old and new) with the 3.5 jack if needed.
