I have the Oster Versa Blender - it is a blender and food processor, with two 20oz cups specifically for blending to go drinks, with caps and all that. I have had this machine for almost 2 years, I purchased it almost immediately after it came on the market, and I have loved EVERY SECOND of owning this machine.
I use my blender/food processor every day (almost) and it has performed beautifully every time. My mother has a Ninja - it doesn't blend smoothies as smoothly as my Versa. My best friend has a Vitamix - it is very difficult to clean and has no food processor capabilities, and she hardly uses it because of this. The Versa is easy to take apart and clean, and is incredibly versatile.
When I purchased it I believe I spent about $170-$190 on it, but right now it is on sale at Amazon for $116. Either way, it is not a terribly expensive machine, and I can honestly say I would have paid $500 for it, with all of the use I have gotten out of it and continue to get out of it every day. I can't recommend this product highly enough.
Versa Blender
Blender recommendations! I'm thinking I need something with higher wattage since I'm blending frozen fruits. My roommate's cheapie blender cannot handle the frozen stuff and I'm afraid I may have used it up. I want something that'll last but I'm putting my budget at $200. The Ninjas look cool but have a short warranty. Looking at this or this Oster. So many freakin options for something that just blends food.....
