The best history of the programs—which moved from SRI to different military-intel agencies over two decades—written by a good political history journalist Howard Blum. The most interesting part is that their star psychic, who had been a secretary, had always said she was naturally psychic. This really PO'd the people who were claiming they could teach it to anyone. Apparently it was nearly impossible to "teach" it to people who didn't already have psychic/psi experieinces.
