I have some pigmentation and dark spots because of acne scars. Since it is an exfoliant, am I only supposed to use it once a week? People in the reviews talk about using it daily, but I am unsure if this is safe for my skin or not. Also, I've heard that with an AHA product, you should also be using sunscreen, is this true? Lastly, when should I be using this product in accordance to cleansing and moisturizing?

If you don’t want to go with prescription stuff, personally I love Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Exfoliant. It’s a gel that has worked wonders in evening out my skin tone and reducing decades of hyperpigmentation on my face, neck, and crooks of my elbows. I usually put it on before my moisturizer, let it dry, then put on either a rich moisturizer (at bedtime) or one with a good spf protection (in the morning).

Vitamin C serums supposedly help for minor darkening, but I don’t know how effective they actually are.

I read online somewhere that it helps to think about how bad you’ll feel after picking. I always feel super guilty after so that helps me stop sometimes.

Hydrocolloid bandaids also help me a lot when im trying not to pick. They come in patches but I cut up these and it comes out cheaper:

I try to hide my blemishes from myself when I’m at home not wearing make up by spot treating with masks. It helps when I’m “scanning” for blemishes. Also worth noting that I have oily to normal skin and I wear the mask as a spot treatment overnight with no ill effects. I use this one;

Picking leaves me with hyperpigmentation so I use glycolic acid to fade them faster. It makes your skin more susceptible to the sun so sunscreen is a must. I use this little tube of glycolic acid. It lasts me a month because I use it every third day or so.

*Finally, for texture, I’ve used a 1.5 mm dermaroller. I purchased mine on amazon, but it can be dangerous. After a certain length of needle, it is recommended you see a professional. Unfortunately these longer lengths really help with scars(permanent changes in skin texture). It might be worth looking into.

I have been trying to get rid of my razer bumps on my face for a while now. I managed to finally get them majorly down using Bump stopper, but now I have a lot of dark splotches on my face. I have been using these products to try and clear my skin up, but I am not noticing any changes:
