Reddit mentions of PDP Nintendo Switch Starter Kit - Mario "M" Edition - Nintendo Switch

I personally have this case and I love it. It has plenty of space to hold games and joy-con straps (not quite enough room for extra controllers, unfortunately) and is sturdy enough and looks good too. The extra bits and bobs are kind of useless, though (I have no use for the controller grips or stick covers and the screen protector is pretty garbage) so I don't necessarily recommend someone buying it if there's a cheaper option available. As for a screen protector, I used this one right here and it's absolutely amazing- no loss in picture quality whatsoever (as opposed to what you get with plastic ones) and super resistant to scratches. And since it comes with two (all for a measly $8 right now) you can use one for yourself and sell or gift the other one to a friend.

Would anyone recommend the PDP Switch Starter Pack? I've yet to get either a screen protector or a case for it, so this seems like a good deal

Probably one of the Starter kit cases. They have a rubber shell which should keep it safe in bags and they can also carry games + a few extra accessories.

The PDP cases should be fine as well. I have this one which has been giving plenty of protection and it's one of the cheaper cases. (If you plan on getting the pdp, I found mine on a shelf in GameStop which avoided having to wait for it to be restocked on amazon.)

Are these Switch cases the same or different?

They're sold as if they're the same item but the black one looks like it's a thinner fabric on the outside where as Mario has a thicker rubber on the outside.

I think the Mario one is probably the more protective case but I figure I'd ask if someone knows more.

I have this one. The middle bit goes from one end to the other, lots of room, holds games and has a sleeve for controllers etc. The middle bit doesn't touch the switch so everything is very well protected.
