I was considering the same thing as I was able to find some PS4s/Astro Editions for less than the Xbox One edition. From my research the headsets are the same, except the Xbox One edition comes with the AG1 cable, which is basically the 'Chat Adapter'. I was wondering if a 3.5mm (from the controller) into the 2.5mm (on the headset) would enable chat. My understanding is a cable would give you microphone and chat, but you'll need a 'compatible' cable with enough poles on each connector.
