I'd suggest taking a look at this or this.

>is there any way to circumvent this and use the dedicated gpu

On a laptop? No.

You waste your money buying a monitor with a refresh rate you will never achieve on that hardware.

You mean this one? https://www.amazon.com/B00TB8X8GA

But in general you need a pretty beefy CPU to reach such high framerates.

If money is a concern and gaming is not, then amybe take a look at this Razor for a couple of hundreds less with a less powerful GPU (last year's addition).

If you could go a little smaller than 15 inches, THIS would be fantastic!

Would you consider trading a 2013 Razer Blade for the MSI?

It's the linked one, but with a 1600x900 screen and Windows 10.

I can provide timestamps tomorrow, and it's got the original charger. No dents or scratches, just needs a tiny bit of cleaning.

The only other thing I can find is yet another Razer. It has an older gen 970m but it's still fully capable for games at 1080p. You can get around 50fps in BF1 on high settings. The price is still kinda steep but your requirements are just too specific to get anything at a cheaper price. A similar post got the same answer.

That looks awesome! What about its competitor? This razor looks a bit thinner.

$2000 for a 970m. $1500 on a desktop will get you much better performance.
