I just used Aphogee for the first time and it was incredible. I too was noticing the insane amount of water my hair was retaining after a shower (went from thick, Asian, deep black hair to silver) and Aphogee really made a huge difference. If it helps at all, there's a small version of it you could try that's about $4.00 at Sally's, though I imagine you'd probably want at least two packets of that for that for how much hair you've got... maybe cheaper to get the big bottle!
Since I started bleaching my hair about six months ago, I haven't touched shampoo unless removing unwanted color or washing out bleach.
