Someone is offering to buy me a watch for Christmas, they haven't put a limit on the price but i want it to be under $250.
I currently have 4 watches, all pretty cheap. A Stührling, Timex, Casio, and Bering.
I have pretty much exclusively looking at Seiko and Orient because I have seem them raved about on this sub at this price.
The Orient Esteem watches look very interesting and more stylish that what I currently have. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
I was also looking at these [6] [7]
As for the Seikos, I really enjoy the look of the day window on this [1] And the others that I quite like are [2] [3] [4]
Quick edit: I forgot I had this Rodina page [1] bookmarked!
I know this is a really long post with a lot of different watches, but I just want to get something reliable and not similar to what I currently have (to a degree). Thanks ahead of time!
I'm looking to buy a dress watch. Black strap with white/lighter dial. Here are some I like. I do not want to spend more than 300.
I was thinking, I could buy a Seiko Kinetic
Or an Orient Esteem
Or Orient sun and moon
I figured, if I ended up buying the Seiko kinetic, for around 150, I could also end up buying the Seiko Solar. I do not have something like this and I figured, I could used it for rugged purposes.
Suggestions, please.
At $200, I'd look at this Seiko kinetic:

It uses a spinning rotor to charge a battery which runs a quartz movement. It will be much more accurate than an automatic mechanical watch and last longer. The power reserves of a kinetic is measured in months, not days.
Unless he's a watch enthusiast, I would hesitate to get him a mechanical watch.
Seiko Men's SKX009K2 vs Seiko Men SRN049
Which one should I go for? If I'm stuck with only one for a while? I know the diver watch series of SKX007/009 will be a classic but I'm stuck wanting a manly watch and an elegant watch. Seiko is pretty nice for price and my budget in general.
My general outfit is usually white wife beater (a shirt), a tapered denim jacket by brave star denim, and brown/tan chino or denim.
Thanks
