I usually avoid Bose, but I've got the Soundlink Mini, one of the best I've come across. Simply for how clear and great the base is while small enough to not take any space at all in a backpack.
I haven't listened to the new Logitech UE Boom yet, but that may be a better choice if you find somewhere to play some music from both and get a good ear for their bass and clarity.
