I'm currently using the Neo Hybrid case by Spigen. It's pretty sturdy and looks terrific. The one thing I don't like about it is how slippery it is, and there are some "sharpish" edges that I prefer were more rounded.
It's mostly slippery when using it in one hand, which I do often while on the bus.
Pretty good though, and I don't know if I should buy a different case.
Spigen is probably your best bet. Currently rocking the [Neo Hybrid] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LWMSRA4/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it has a good trade-off of being slim while still offering protection. Comes in colors to match the phone.

You really can't go wrong with any of them. I have the Rugged Armor, but I've heard good things about the Neo Hybrid as well.

Helps me keep a good grip (before I felt like I'd drop it all the time) and protects the face and corners without adding a ton of bulk.
Kinda glad they took so long to make it available then. I woulda bought it in a heartbeat, but needed a case ASAP. Ended up with this one cause it had 5 stars to tide me over for the Carnaby, and ended up loving it so much there's no way im switching:

This one for my XL.
I've had mine since launch and I have one near the top of my screen. Invisible in most situations. None on the back glass. I had a relatively thin case but I still didn't like the additional thickness so I only used it for a couple of weeks. That actually damaged the phone more than anything else. It rubbed around 3 of the corners and now I have silver spots on my black Pixel XL :( First time that's ever happened. It was mint prior to that. I don't think I'm super careful with my phone but I don't drop it much.
I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid, which is good with the combination of rubberized case with hard frame, but that frame has already cracked at thinner points where it is open for the headset jack and power. I may look at a new case.
For the standard Pixel, I recommend the Spigen
RuggerRugged Armor (this is what I have) and for the Pixel XL, I recommend the Spigen Neo HybridPersonally, I've used Spigen cases for a while now and they've always served me well. I'd have opted for the Neo Hybrid for my Pixel is they made it, unfortunately, they don't. That being said, I'm very happy with the Rugged Armor case.
