You want to form a waterbrotherhood? You should read Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein.

Please ignore the minor fact that we now know there is no highly intelligent species living on Mars and just look at it as a book that questions everything you had drilled into your head from birth.

It's quite good.

Grok means drink. It can also mean drink in the essence, truly know, etc. Thou art God. I am God. All that groks is God.

I hope you enjoy the book. Sometime in the 1960s, people sort of formed a religion around this book.

Aquafraternally yours.

Wow. That is strange. Some Heinlein books are available in ebook from Baen:

http://www.baenebooks.com/s-59-robert-a-heinlein.aspx

And Glory Road is in ebook (and Kindle) from Tor:

http://www.amazon.com/Glory-Road-ebook/dp/B004MYFUK0/

Starship Troopers and Stranger in a Strange Land are available from Penguin Publishing:

http://www.amazon.com/Starship-Troopers-ebook/dp/B004EYTK2C/

http://www.amazon.com/Stranger-Strange-Remembering-Tomorrow-ebook/dp/B000TO0TDK/

And Citizen of the Galaxy (also is available from Baen above):

http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-of-the-Galaxy-ebook/dp/B005OLRPI0/

Which is listed as sold by "Amazon Digital Services, inc." which I'm guessing is either his agency (Spectrum Literary) or more directly The Robert A. Heinlein and Virginia Heinlein Prize Trust. (Or who knows.)

But here I have a crazy conspiracy theory type idea. Perhaps Macmillan (Tor, Orb, etc.) has finally sorted out the ebook rights to The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (they currently sell the paperback) and will launch it DRM-free as an exclusive title with the Tor ebookstore, which is set to open soon. Conspiracy! Random thought...

edit: Or, maybe Baen is working on it? They do have The Star Beast coming May 2013, Starman Jones in October 2012, and Sixth Column in February 2013.

What was the format of this story (e-book, a pamphlet, paperback anthology...)? Any guess on how old this story is (1960s Sci-Fi, 2000-2010, etc.)? Were there any odd language quirks or words used by any characters, like the word grok?

I would really like to read Stranger in a Strange Land at some point this year. I have heard so many good things about it.

My favorite color is turquoise.
