Powerline vs WiFi is entirely dependent on house layout.

Powerline doesn't work well in my house, and it's a recent one build around '07. And it wasn't due to crappy powerline adapters either, I tried these three adapters and only got a tenth of my 50/10 internet from them.

Whereas my wireless adds ~20ms latency compared to ethernet while still maxing out my internet speed.

For any online gaming, running a chord will always be ideal (even through walls or a far distance) but if you don't have a way to do that you can also get a powerline adapter. Powerline is nice. I use it for a dedicated HTPC box in my house, been running a pair for over a year no issues. However, for speeds you're looking for, you're not gonna get that.

Or even close really, as the newer Homeplug AV2 adapters that offer up to 1200mbps all use the ground plug.

You'd be stuck with the 500Mbps versions at max.

I use a pair of Trendnet 406E, however they only have a 100mbps port.

The Trendnet 408E2K would be close to the best you could get for your situation.

You could try something like this. I have a buddy that swears by them but he isn't streaming games so you'd have to do some research to see if it'd help your situation.
