The novelty makes it a suitable gift, I'd agree. Alas, it's also a bit cumbersome. Not sure someone not really all that interested in records would warm up to that all that much.
To the OP...the problem with all-in-one systems is typically that they are just really cheaply made things. They typically cost less than a decent entry level table yes have 3 times the features so they're cutting corners all over the place.

And the external speakers is a plus. At $250-ish, one can assume they put a little more effort into that one that most. That said, it appears to still suffer from having a cheap spring-loaded tone arm.
Hey, i'm looking to build a nice setup, but would like something in the meantime so I can at least listen to what I have collected/received so far. I made a move for a Teac MC-D800-CH All-In-One Turntable, but couldn't find many reviews on it, other than Amazon.
Two people said they had the problem of the turntable playing too fast, but I couldn't find any more confirmation than that. Can anyone attest to that, or can they offer any advice towards this particular model? Thank you in advance :)
