My little one started with magnetic letters, singing abc's, having me count everything

Books: i went to yard sales and thrifts and got piles of books everything from baby's first words to beginning readers, Golden Books, Dr Seuss. If a book is too advanced we just look at and talk about the illustrations

About 2 1/2 i found a Learning Journey Match It "numbers" game which she loves. She demands we play daily. Since then i found the "goes together" and "3 letter words spelling". Link to one of them. She loves these and begs to do all 3 every day, repeatedly.

I also went to Dollar Tree (everything's $1) and got a bunch of pre-k activity books. Also I got one of those huge alphabet posters to hang across the top of her playroom, and she liked reading it to me. I hung posters or pictures up around. For some reason shes fascinated by traffic signs, so we have those hanging up.

Motor skills: play doh, coloring, painting, bath paints. This is also a good time to talk about the names of colors

Curiosity & exploration: nature walks, letting her watch when i take a household object apart to fix it, pointing out & naming new things. Sometimes it's as simple as showing her while i turn a sheet of paper into an airplane or origami animal for her to play with. We put a birdfeeder right outside her playroom window, and im teaching her the names of each species.

What we dont have: no cable tv. Very minimal screen time. No punishment or any disapproval when she tries something and spills or breaks something.
