My top recommendations (I'm not including the Rebirth stuff but I absolutely recommend it!):

Wonder Woman by George Perez, Vol. 1

Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka, Vol. 1

The Legend of Wonder Woman, Vol. 1: Origins

Wonder Woman: Earth One, Vol. 1

If you want a book that has a really good all around historical look at wonder woman I highly recommend picking up Wonder Woman: A Celebration of 75 years

I also personally love the Brian Azzarello's Wonder Woman Run in the new 52. It's also probably one of the most self contained titles in the new 52. The first volume is Wonder Woman Vol 1. Blood

There are two really great origin stories of wonder woman that I really love that are very current. The first (and my favorite of the two) is The legend of Wonder Woman. And the second is Wonder Woman: The True Amazon. The art in this one is fantastic.

Another great wonder woman story is Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia

I also really loved Sensation Comics featuring wonder Woman. I really love all of the different writers and artists takes on wonder woman.

Since you mentioned that you've read Batman comics, you two should read The Legend of Wonder Woman together. It's one of the most amazing Wonder Woman stories, and it's really kid-friendly. Here's a preview image from the beginning of it. It's an origin story of her growing up.

Another animated show that hasn't been mentioned is Justice League Action which is in it's first season right now on Cartoon Network.

I bought my 5yo daughter a Wonder Woman graphic novel. Though the language was difficult (as were many of the concepts, and I had to read it to her), she loved it. This Christmas I've bought her the first Harry Potter kids graphic novel, Cleopatra in Space, and Phoebe and her Unicorn.

Personally, my faves are her definitive post-Crisis origin, starting with George Perez's 'Gods and Mortals' arc (basically, Wonder Woman Vol. 2, 1986-2006 and Vol. 3, 2006-2010), and The Legend of Wonder Woman. You can find the first omnibus volume of Perez's Wonder Woman run here, and the second volume comes out in May. The Legend of Wonder Woman can either be found here if you want it in print or on Comixology if you want to read the full run now.

Both are amazing; George Perez basically reinvented Wonder Woman and his run is considered the modern foundation for Diana and her world. LOWW is an all-ages reimagining of Diana's early days as Wonder Woman using her Golden Age origin story and mixing in a tiny bit of Perez's story and has beautiful art, an engaging plot, and good writing.

May I suggest delving a bit deeper into Wonder Woman before picking up Earth One? I think the book reads a bit better when you have a firmer in-continuity understanding of the character.

True Amazon is a great book for a new reader. I'd also suggest:
