Yup, from this book here. Now I'm sure it's probably just based off the stuff the team at WETA did, so accuracy in terms of what Tolkien envisioned in his goblins is debatable.

But no, I at least was referring to something, rather than conjuring it from thin air ;)
It’s this here! The Lord of the Rings Weapons and Warfare https://www.amazon.com/dp/0618391002/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PHK5AbKV3ZEZ7
I guess I don't know what you're trying to say.
Nearly each and every piece of armor and weapon was done by hand for the LOTR set, it was a shit load. Like seriously "swords" was a pretty good percent of a the budget. Obviousily the CGI "Background" orcs didn't use these but they were also made to be a little different from each other through their program. But yes, every elf, every dwarf and every orc that is real has some unique buckle/sword/armor, often signifying their background (Some other similar looking orcs will have a similar insignia on their buckle or so forth).
You can check out the book on it if you like its very interesting and like a dollar. http://www.amazon.com/The-Lord-Rings-Weapons-Warfare/dp/0618391002
This is why a lot of big LOTR fans were dissapointed by the hobbit. It seemed like something with so much work and soul into it kind of just converted into a quick "Shove out what looks cool to make a profit".
