I do have some firsthand experience with a Thinkpad Yoga 370 and this device: https://www.amazon.com/CableDeconn-display-Gigabit-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B00VBOD21S/. Everything works. Tested HDMI, VGA, Gigabit ethernet, charging passtrough, the fullsize card reader, and the usb 3 ports. The only thing that I haven't tested so far is the audio jack, but I have no reason to assume it wouldn't work.
Because USB-C is a standard, it should just work on both devices. I don't expect manufacturers of these things to list every compatible device on their product page, because the list would be very long and always incomplete.
But USB-C is quite extensive and complex. It's not like a mouse that would work on literally every laptop ever. So YMMV.
Another thing to note is that Thunderbolt support on Linux is in a very early state. Since I have exactly 0 Thunderbolt devices other than this laptop, I cannot give you any details. The device I linked is just USB-C alternate mode for Display Port (and DP->HDMI and DP->VGA convertors) and regular USB 3.1 for the rest.
Edit: I am also just assuming that everything on my Yoga 370 works the same as on yout T470s or any other Thinkpad *70 device with USB-C, but again, I cannot be 100% certain. YMMV.
